Posing tip of the week: the rotisserie

One of my favorite tricks for posing is as easy to teach as it is to learn. I learned it from a well-known and highly respected boudoir photographer named Jen Rozenbaum, and I use it with virtually all of my clients.

The concept is simple: start with a basic posing structure and, just like a rotisserie chicken, turn it! Scroll through the gallery below to see exactly how this was done in a recent boudoir photoshoot with Katie.

Now, there’s a little coaching and improvisation during the turns, of course; she’s shift her hips, and moving her arms into different positions. But the fundamental pose is actually the same, and she introduces a lot of variation just by turning!

So there you have it, and incredibly easy way to add variety to your posing - the rotisserie! A big thanks to Jen Rozenbaum for the idea, and if you want to try the rotisserie trick yourself, there’s no time like the present to book your own photoshoot in our Tulsa studio.
