Frequently asked questions

  • My photoshoots require a nonrefundable deposit of $500. All photos and products are sold separately. My clients typically spend anywhere from $900 to about $2300 depending on how many photos and products they purchase.

  • I’ve photographed hundreds of unique individuals, and almost all of them had no prior modeling experience. I will coach you verbally through all of your poses so your photos showcase your confidence and beauty!

  • No, and I generally recommend that my clients avoid professional makeup applications, as it is easier for me to achieve a natural look during my editing process without it. I can, however, arrange hair and/or makeup upon request for a modest fee.

  • I never share my clients’ photos without their expressed written permission. I work with models for public projects to build my public portfolio, so there is never any pressure or obligation to release your photos.

  • I strongly believe in capturing my clients’ natural beauty, and that means minimal digital retouching. I will remove temporary blemishes like pimples, scratches and bruises, or imprints from clothing; however, I will never alter my clients body shapes and I will only remove permanent features when directly requested.

  • My home studio is located in midtown Tulsa, near 41st and Harvard. You will receive directions after you have reserved your photoshoot.

  • Absolutely. My clients’ comfort is my highest priority, and you are welcome to bring a friend or significant other to your photoshoot if you like.

  • As a rule, I do not hire models or do TFP. I do occasionally put out model calls to the public, but most of my photoshoots are paid.

  • I do not have a strict policy on nudity per se; however, it’s important that my photographs are artistic in intent, rather than overtly sexual. I will not photograph close-ups of male or female genitals, and I will not photograph poses that depict or imply sexual activity (please contact me about an erotica photoshoot if that is your intent!).

  • Yes! I offer small business branding and headshots, family and maternity photos, traditional boudoir, and even couples’ erotica. You may contact me for pricing and details at michael@michaelalan.photography

  • Yes, but only with compensation for travel time, food, lodging, equipment transportation, and fuel costs. In most cases it is more cost-effective for clients to travel to me.
