You may have noticed some changes....

For the last two years, I’ve operated under the brand Michael Alan Boudoir. But as my photography has evolved, I’ve felt less and less interested in what I would call “traditional” boudoir. I’ve spent a great deal of time studying lighting, composition, and editing, and as a result I feel my style has become more distinct and recognizable from the mountains of boudoir photographers who shoot in very similar, often indistinct styles.

From the beginning, I’ve wanted to stand out. It’s not just the quality of work that matters, but the style too. My current work is certainly the best I’ve done - I’m more consistent, more creative, faster, and far more knowledgeable than I was a year ago. Accordingly, I’ve felt more and more that traditional boudoir photography is too small a box, and one that is already overcrowded with photographers trying to cash in on the trend.

In addition to shifting my focus more toward studio work, I’ve also been expanding into fitness photography - which, ironically, is where I got my start! But now I have a far great set of knowledge and skills to craft the look I want.

Accordingly, after much thought, I realized that “Michael Alan Boudoir” didn’t really capture the breadth and style of my photography. I’ve officially rebranded as Michael Alan Photography Studios, to reflect both my emphasis on studio work and to break away from traditional boudoir. I want to forge my own path and stand out from the pack, and I believe this rebranding is a step in that direction.

What hasn’t changed is my commitment to my clients or the portrait-focused style of my work. I’m not branching into totally unrelated styles like corporate headshots, product photography, or landscapes. I love photographing people in compelling, artistic ways - and that will continue to be my focus here at Michael Alan Photography Studios.
